Luigi Caccia Dominioni

Luigi Caccia Dominioni was born in Milan in 1913 and after graduating in architecture in Milan in 1936 he worked with Livio and Pier Giacomo Castiglioni until 1942 participating in the Milan Triennial and other competitions.He planned several buildings in Milan during the postwar years, realised in 1957-1960. He then participated in the V111 Milan Triennial. The Azucena project was established in the same period in collaboration with Ignazia Gardella, and they collaborated in the marketing of furniture and objects for interiors.

Together with the Castiglioni brothers in 1960 he presented a range of furniture which was awarded the Compasso d`Oro prize at the X11 Trienalle.A celebrated architect and designer,throughout his life he has addressed the issues of small scale projects such as furniture and lighting and broad architectural projects.Indeed from 1975-1984 he participated in the revision of the Town plan for the centre of Milan
